Are you interested in exploring a career in industry?

As a graduate student (M.S. or Ph.D.) or postdoc within two years of graduation, consider applying for the Bayer Fellows Program, generously supported by Bayer Crop Science.

The Bayer Fellows program is open to all graduate students and postdocs who will be attending and/or presenting at the 2025 CANVAS Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, UT, November 9-12.

10 students will be selected for the 2025-26 Class of Fellows.

Fellows will be graduate students (M.S. or Ph.D.) near graduation and postdocs seeking employment in the agronomic, crops, soil, and environmental science fields. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn from industry professionals, grow their skills through professional development, and expand their networks.

Bayer Fellows will:

  1. Connect with a Bayer Crop Science mentor for one year.
  2. Attend and/or present research at CANVAS in Salt Lake City, UT Nov 9-12.
  3. Attend a dinner for Bayer Fellows, mentors, and sponsors.
  4. Participate in the Graduate Student Leadership Conference at CANVAS.
  5. Participate in ongoing professional development through ASA, CSSA, and SSSA educational webinars
  6. Participate in an exclusive Bayer Fellows strengths/weaknesses webinar conducted by a Bayer Crop Science team member

All Fellows will receive:

  1. Free CANVAS registration.
  2. Up to $1000 in travel expenses to CANVAS in Salt Lake City, UT.
  3. ASA, CSSA and/or SSSA membership for the upcoming year.
  4. Dinner for Fellows/mentors/sponsors at CANVAS.

Details

Self-nominations only. The application includes student information, a statement of the impact of this program on career development, leadership positions, and one reference letter. Preference will be given to members of ASA, CSSA, and SSSA, students or postdocs who have already submitted an abstract for CANVAS in Salt Lake City, UT, and/or students nearest to graduating with their terminal degree.
