Oxygen Content of Soil Air By a Field Method1

  1. W. H. Patrick2

Abstract

Abstract

A field method was developed that allows rapid, accurate measurement of soil oxygen at various depths in the soil profile. A small sample of soil air is withdrawn from permanently installed air reservoirs or diffusion chambers into a cell containing a polarographic oxygen electrode that is connected to a portable oxygen meter.
