Simple Flow Plugs for Regulating Gas Composition1

  1. D. E. Miller2

Abstract

Abstract

Oxygen and nitrogen contents in a gas were accurately controlled by passing compressed air and nitrogen at regulated pressure through flow plugs. The flow plugs were constructed from bronze oxygen hose couplers with porous plastic dises as flow restrictors. Gas flow rate through a plug was varied by changing the number and porosity of disks and the applied gas pressure.
