Abstract

Abstract

An inexpensive heating sample plate for X-ray diffraction studies of clay minerals is described. The plate is supported on a machined massive pyrophyllite base which fits in the sample mount of an X-ray diffractometer. Temperatures up to 450C are readily attained.
