A soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] seed acid phosphatase exists in the gennplasm in three different electro-phoretic forms. These electrophoretic forms are inherited as codominant alleles at a single locus. The symbol Apa is assigned to the slow (Rf 0.38) form, Apb to the intermediate (Rf 0.42), and Apc to the fast (Rf 0.47) form. Of the 326 cultivars examined, 4 were of the Apa genotype, 296 of Apb, and 26 of Apc. The Ap locus was found to be linked to the Kunitz trypsin inhibitor (Ti) with a crossover frequency of 16.2%.Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
