Association among Characters Related to Seed Production in Astragalus Cicer L.1

  1. C. E. Townsend2

Abstract

Abstract

Significant differences in number of racemes, total seed weight, average seed weight per raceme, weight of 1,000-seed lots, and size of raceme were found among spaced plants of 22 accessions of Astragalus cicer. Simple correlation coefficients between these characters and with general plant vigor were of relatively low magnitude. Open-pollination seed set ranged from less than 100 seeds to over 300 seeds per raceme.
