Abstract

Abstract

Significant correlation coefficients (P=.05) of −0.42 and −0.59 were obtained for first harvest dry matter yields of alfalfa and alfalfa weevil populations. ‘Vernal,’ ‘Rhizoma,’ and ‘MSHP7’ varieties were consistently lower in alfalfa weevil infestations than the other varieties evaluated. Population levels decreased rapidly in May and were not a serious problem after the first harvest.
