Eight plant introductions and four commercial varieties of spring wheat were evaluated for stem-solidness at five locations. Location and location ✕ variety effects were significant, indicating that entries were influenced by environment, and differentially so by some environments. Differences among locations in average plant and internode stem-solidness scores indicated that the six P.I. 94585 selections were most stable and least influenced by environment.
