Synopsis

The number of days in the period from 6 weeks before to 3 weeks after silking on which corn was under no moisture stress (NSD) was highly associated with yield. Below 40 NSD there was little difference in yields at stand levels of 12,000 and 16,000. Above 40 NSD stand level was of major importance.
