Forage yields were not significantly affected by the method of applying N. Irrigation increased production and the stand of crimson clover. The clover stand was reduced or eliminated by N applications of 32 pounds per acre or more. Production increased with each increment of N up to 256 pounds on the nonirrigated plots and up to 128 pounds on irrigated plots. Winter killing occurred on irrigated plots where 150 pounds of N were applied. Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
