Yield Components in Oats. I. Effect of Seeding Date
- K. J. Frey
In date-of-seeding experiments with 3 oat varieties Andrew and Sauk produced a higher relative grain yield than Bonham when sown late. Andrew produced a greater actual and relative number of seeds per head as the seeding date became later, whereas Sauk maintained a high level of relative number of heads per plant. Relative weights per 100 seeds of all 3 varieties were reduced by late planting to about the same extent. Please view the pdf by using the Full Text (PDF) link under 'View' to the left.
