Average annual precipitation at six locations ranged from 36 to 44 inches and yielded from 7 to 16 pounds of sulfur per acre. A highly significant correlation was found between inches of precipitation and pounds of sulfur contained. The state annual average of 12.6 pounds per acre of sulfur contained in the precipitation was much less than the 30 pounds found in a similar study in 1921–22.
