This course is available as a full 12 lesson course and is also available as 4 separate modules of 3 lessons each divided by topic.  The course is a non-credit course taught online using distance education technologies provided by Peach New Media.

There is a 90 day time limit from the date of purchase on the full 12 lesson course and a 30 day time limit from the date of purchase for each module.

Fundamentals in Applied Agronomy         is a preparatory course for those who want to become a Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) or Certified Professional Agronomist (CPAg). This course will follow the ICCA Exam Performance Objectives, transforming book knowledge into real management skills.  This is a twelve lesson course that focuses on the application of knowledge in the area of soils and plants as related to production agriculture. Areas of emphasis include: Nutrient Management, Soil and Water Management, Pest Management and Crop Management.  Participation is documented by completion of a quiz for each lesson.  CCAs and CPAgs will receive a total of 24.0 CEUs with 6.0 CEUs in each of the following categories of Nutrient Management, Soil and Water Management, Integrated Pest Management and Crop Management. CPSS and CPSC certificants will receive 24.0 CEUs in Self-Directed Study.

Fundamentals in Applied Agronomy—Soil & Water Management is a three lesson course that explores the science and practical applications regarding soil chemical, physical, and biological properties, site characterization, soil conservation, residue management, water and solute movement, soil/plant water relations, irrigation, drainage, and a variety of related topics.  Participation is documented by completion of a quiz for each lesson.  CCAs and CPAgs will receive a total of 6.0 CEUs in Soil and Water Management for CCAs. CPSS and CPSC certificants will receive 6.0 CEUs in Self-Directed Study.

Fundamentals in Applied Agronomy—Crop Management is a three lesson course that explores the science and practical applications regarding cropping systems, tillage, hybrid and variety selection, seed quality, planting practices, crop growth, development, and diagnostics, harvest and storage, managing production risk, precision farming, and a variety of related topics.  Participation is documented by completion of a quiz for each lesson.    CCAs and CPAgs will receive a total of 6.0 CEUs in Crop Management for CCAs. CPSS and CPSC certificants will receive 6.0 CEUs in Self-Directed Study.

Fundamentals in Applied Agronomy—Nutrient Management is a three lesson course that explores the science and practical applications regarding plant nutrition and soil fertility, the nitrogen cycle, soil pH, liming and soil amendments, fertilizers, manure, & other nutrient sources, fertilizer additives, soil and tissue analysis, fertilizer calculations, nutrient application, and a variety of related topics.  Participation is documented by completion of a quiz for each lesson.    CCAs and CPAgs will receive a total of 6.0 CEUs in Nutrient Management for CCAs. CPSS and CPSC certificants will receive 6.0 CEUs in Self-Directed Study.

Fundamentals in Applied Agronomy—Pest Management is a three lesson course that explores the science and practical applications regarding the identification of insects, weeds & diseases, pest sampling and monitoring, decision-making guidelines, pesticide modes of action, pest management strategies, resistance management, pesticide application and safety, and a variety of related topics.  Participation is documented by completion of a quiz for each lesson.    CCAs and CPAgs will receive a total of 6.0 CEUs in Pest Management for CCAs. CPSS and CPSC certificants will receive 6.0 CEUs in Self-Directed Study.
