Agronomic Resident Education Award

 

The award recognizes traits that characterize excellence in resident classroom teaching through classroom skills, performance by graduates, student-teacher interactions, and recognition of accomplishments as a classroom teacher. The award consists of a certificate and $2000 honorarium.

Evaluation

  1. Classroom skills as evidenced by peer and student evaluations.
  2. Innovative or unique approaches to encourage learning by students.
  3. Performance by graduates in areas related to the teaching activities of the nominee.
  4. Student-teacher interactions as evidenced by student and peer evaluations and by motivation and maturation of students.
  5. Recognition of accomplishments as a classroom teacher evidenced by department, college, university, or other professional groups awards.

  1. Nominators are required to be ASA Members
  2. Members of this ASA Awards Committee, the ASA Board of Directors, and also the CSSA Executive Committee are not eligible to be a nominator for this award.

Nominee

  1. Nominees are not required to be ASA members.
  2. Members of this ASA Awards Committee, the ASA Board of Directors, and also the CSSA Executive Committee are not eligible to be a nominee for this award.
  3. Teams are eligible if the following qualifications are met: 1. At least one member of the team is an agronomist. 2. Where other disciplines are represented, the agronomist will be a major contributor (50% or more) to the team effort. 3. Only publications where all team members are authors or honors and awards received by the team will be listed. Individual efforts should be omitted.
  4. Nominees must be living at the time of their nomination.
  5. Former recipients of this Award are not eligible.
